Antlers & Horns: An Elegant Rustic Wedding in Lake Louise, Alberta

Weddings are always special, but this particular wedding was extra special because my husband and I introduced the Bride & Groom! The Groom is from Texas and the Bride from Calgary, Alberta- often referred to as the Texas of Canada; a perfect match if I do say so myself!

Lake Louise is within the Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada and is a glacial lake where the water is a stunning emerald color due to the elements found in the glacier water. The wedding and reception both took place at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise, the only hotel located on the lake and has the most spectacular views. The lake, mountains and snow-covered peaks make this the most breathtaking wedding backdrop I have ever seen!

Who doesn't love a good welcome bag? Especially when it has everything you could possibly need to survive a fun-filled wedding weekend! The personalized bags held a welcome note from the bride and groom, vital scheduling information, restaurant and activity recommendations, mini first aid kit, personalized water bottles, bottle of maple syrup, a true Canadian treat – Coffee Crisp chocolate bars (love!) and even microwave popcorn if you wanted a late night snack in your cabin.

The classic, yet rustic theme with antlers and horns were woven throughout the wedding décor from the table displays to the cake, a nod to Alberta and Texas. The wedding cake was a delicious creation with each layer resembling a white birch tree, decorated with antlers and fresh flowers. Yum!

In lieu of a traditional guest book, we were invited to sign bottles of wine which the couple will open on their first, fifth, tenth and fifteenth wedding anniversaries. Cheers to that!
